Ray Emure began his career early on in the 90s as part of a 4-piece vocal group called Urban Unrest. Working alongside Michael Sparkes, who was the one of the first producers to work with the Spice Girls, the groups sound was formed and developed. Ray played a major part in creating the music and lyrical content for the recordings. After a 12-year hiatus and successfully working in the fashion industry as a designer and label owner of his own brand it was only natural as a creative person to step back into music.
2008 saw the release of his debut solo record The Beginning. In 2009 came his sophomore album Coming Home, which to date has had six Top 10 songs on the unsigned chart for Textatrack.co.uk and spurned the No.1 song Never. A new mega distribution deal was signed with Believe as an unsigned artist in July 2009 and Coming Home record was re-released as a special edition with added unreleased songs. Backed by a live band Ray played throughout London Town in various venues such as The Bull & Gate, Hope & Anchor, UCL Union, and The Dublin Castle in Camden.
Towards the end of the year it was time to write the next record and the first single which has been released since March 1st 2010 is called Transfixed. As we speak the song is in the Top 20 Dance/Trance charts on Amazon. This time round it’s a dance edge with an indie sound to the melody. A new album will be released in the summer of 2010.
